Calculate the expectation

Multiply total stakes by the edge as a decimal. For a fictional $750 of turnover and a 3% edge, the expected loss is $22.50. Use turnover rather than the opening balance: the same funds can be staked repeatedly.

Keep the assumptions visible

The edge must apply to the game's actual rules and choices. A generic blackjack percentage, for example, cannot be assumed to apply to every table and decision. If the underlying figure is uncertain, show the uncertainty rather than giving a precise-looking result.

Do not turn the model into a target

Actual loss can be smaller, larger or the full available balance. A calculator cannot tell someone that an amount is safe to risk. It is an explanation of averages under stated assumptions, not a betting system or profit forecast.

Use total stakes, including replayed funds. Actual losses can be the full amount available.

Mathematical expected loss: $22.50. Actual results can differ substantially.
