Read the number correctly

A theoretical 96% RTP corresponds to an expected 4% house edge on the same basis. It is not a statement that 96 out of 100 rounds win, and it does not promise a $96 balance after depositing $100.

Use turnover, not just the deposit

If a fictional game has a 4% edge and total stakes reach $500, the mathematical expected loss is $20. Those stakes can include money repeatedly won and wagered. The outcome of any real session can be very different.

Check the version

A title can have different mathematical configurations. Read the information for the particular version rather than assuming a figure from a provider's promotional page applies everywhere. A sample session cannot establish that configuration reliably.
